Julius Jefferson
, current DCLA President and President of the Freedom to Read Foundation, will go over the history behind “Banned Book Week.” He will also highlight the Freedom to Read Foundation, a non-profit legal and educational organization affiliated with the American Library Association, and ALA’s Intellectual Freedom Committee.

In addition to the brief lecture, a "Read Out" will follow where attendees will have the opportunity to read from their favorite banned books and controversial materials.
