In this two hour mini-workshop facilitated by organizational development consultant, Maureen Sullivan, participants will discuss leadership in libraries today and strategies for:
  • principles and practices of effective leadership
  • improving your effectiveness
  • emotional intelligence and its application in leadership practice

Maureen Sullivan is a widely recognized library leader and educator and has designed and facilitated a number of leadership development programs including: the Mountain Plains Library Association Leadership Institute, the TALL Texans program sponsored by the Texas Library Association, the New England Library Leadership Symposium and several designed for particular groups such as archivists, law and medical librarians.

She is the 2012-2013 President of the American Library Association, has held leadership positions in research libraries and is a member of the faculty in the Managerial Leadership in the Information Professions PhD program at Simmons College.  She is also a faculty member in two of the annual leadership institutes sponsored by the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
