REGULAR STAFF –VIRTUAL SERVICES SPECIALIST - 1 Opening – Part-time at Library Headquarters

Grade 16GA – 18.75 hours/week

Salary Range: $24,184 - $39,963

Excellent benefits package includes eligibility to earn up to 4 weeks of annual leave, starting with first year of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: This is para-professional level work providing assistance and support in the area of Virtual Services. Work requires maintaining considerable expertise in the use of information technology, including, but not limited to databases, email, downloadable e-books, e-audio and the internet and social media. Work also requires providing library service to internal and external customers, particularly as related to customer facing technology.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from college with a bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of two years of continuing education and/or work experience in a public or not-for-profit environment including basic technical skills that include computer use; or an equivalent combination of experience and training that has provided the knowledge, abilities and skills listed below.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Attainment of eligibility under Bylaw 1305.04.03 of the Maryland State Board of Education as a Library Associate and complete Library Associate Training Institute within two years following appointment; and ability to maintain eligibility by completing 90 hours of training every 5 years.
