Position Title:
Assistant Branch Manager-Queen Anne' s County Library
Position Description:
Assistant Branch Manager – The Queen Anne’s County Library has an opening for a full-time Assistant Branch Manager at the Kent Island branch. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and customer service skills with a proven ability to lead. They will have a high level of comfort with and an ability to troubleshoot technology. They will have a demonstrated ability to connect positively with library and community leaders and organizations, library staff, library customers and general public.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Branch Manager in the daily operation of the library branch including circulation, reference, technology assistance, programming, and outreach. Essential Job Functions:
- Oversees and performs all circulation related tasks
- Solves problems with the ability to ease tense situations
- Recruits, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates staff and high school pages as assigned by the Branch Manager
- Orders all branch supplies to include library cards, FOL brochures, QACL program guides, general office supplies, etc. per QACL procedures.
- Uses technology to serve customers and to streamline workflow.
Qualifications:
- BS or BA degree required or ability to acquire degree within 2 years of hire.
- 3+ years of experience in customer service in a public library setting. Supervisory experience a plus.
- Ability to work as part of customer-focused team.
