Do-It-Yourself Publishing for Librarians: Using Internet Sources to Publish Your Writing

Many librarians are expected to contribute to the field through writing and publishing. Whether you are experienced in research and publication, or just starting out, please join us January 24 for a conversation with ETIG Co-chair Judine Slaughter about launching successful writing projects and sustaining productive professional publications throughout your career.

Judine is the Executive Director of the United Black Writers Association, and a self-published author. She will present basic principles for using internet resources to publish a manuscript, and she will share tips about publishing book reviews online and marketing your work through social network sites.

Whether you plan to work with a traditional publisher, or to publish your own work in print or electronically, please come be part of this stimulating discussion!

The Emerging Technologies Interest Group is an effort to bring together DCLA members interested in new technologies that will shape the field of librarianship.

The Shaw Neighborhood Library is located at 1630 7th Street, NW and is adjacent to the Howard University/Shaw metro stop on the green and yellow lines. The website for the venue is http://www.dclibrary.org/watha
