Join DCLA Members on a tour of the Scottish Rite House of the Temple Museum and Library. Designed by architect John Russell Pope, this monumental building has served as the headquarters of the Scottish Rite since 1915.
*Note: There will be a $5.33 fee per person, to be collected at the tour.*
One of the city's most intriguing yet little-known collections, the
House of the Temple
contains materials concerning Freemasonry, its history, culture, and legacy. Among the library's holdings is a large collection of material relating to the poet and mason, Robert Burns, as well as books, numerous Masonic journals, objects, manuscripts, files, etc. which date back to the early 16th century.
This docent and librarian-led tour will last approximately 90 minutes.
