The Access Services Interest Group (ASIG) of the District of Columbia Library Association (DCLA) is holding a meeting on Friday, April 19th from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM over Zoom. ASIG will support conversation on strategies and best practices for access services at libraries and other institutions. Invited are librarians, accessibility and assistive technology professionals and users from around the DC/MD/VA area who want to problem solve in a shared environment. Please feel free to share this announcement appropriately. Topics of discussion could include any of the following:


Universal Design

Best practices in virtual services due to Covid

Are there audio loops incorporated into the design of buildings?

What types of effective communication are offered to the public?

Distributing assistive technology (AT) service remotely

Marketing AT services to different communities

Converting materials to alternative formats

Evaluation of new AT

Reports from AT conferences
