The DCLA Adaptive Services Interest Group (ASIG) will host a casual information sharing meeting. Attendees should have a background or interest in Adaptive/Assistive Technology (AT) and work in public schools, universities, colleges and/or public libraries. Attendees should prepare a 5 minute presentation about their AT services and how other specialists can reach out to you.

The Adaptive Services Interest Group (ASIG) http://dclibrary.org/node/5217 is a professional networking group of the DC Library Association (DCLA) that meets up to 3 times a year to discuss issues of common interest to Adaptive Services Programs in Libraries and Universities. Librarians and Adaptive Technology (AT) professionals are welcome.
Meetings are held at various locations around the area, including academic libraries and AT centers, and public and state libraries for the blind and physically handicapped.
Some discussion points in the past have included:
•Distributing adaptive service remotely
•Marketing adaptive services to different communities
•Converting materials to alternative formats
•Evaluation of new adaptive technologies
•Universal Design
•Reports from national AT conferences
•Local AT resource providers
Directions:
The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library is located at 901 G Street NW, right outside the 9th street exit of the Gallery Place Chinatown Metro stop. We are also a block and a half from the 11th Street exit of Metro Center. Room 215 Adaptive Services is on the second floor. Take the elevators at the back of the Great Hall to the second floor and Adaptive Services is on the North Hallway. No public parking is available at the library. Parking lots at 9th and G and at 8th and G cost around $20 per day. The easiest way is to take the metro.
