    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Under minimal supervision, the Technology and Content Strategy Manager is responsible for all technology and content strategy operations and staff. Plans and monitors activities in the following areas: Information Technology, Collection Management, Technical Services (Acquisitions, Cataloging, and Processing), Local and Family History, and Technology Support. Oversees the development and application of new technologies. Participates in the planning and evaluation of programs, services, and goals for the entire library. Responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring, and directing the day to day operations of this area and ensures that all services are in alignment with the library's strategic goals and are implemented effectively. Responsible for supervising, training, and evaluating subordinate staff, establishing standards for services and collections, preparing the budget, researching and formulating long range goals, developing policies, and planning and evaluating programs, services, and goals. Reports to the Director of Libraries.

    TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    Master's Degree in an ALA accredited program in Library Science or possession of Librarian's Professional Certificate from the Commonwealth of Virginia State Library Board and 5 years professional level experience in a library setting, including 2-3 years of administrative/supervisory responsibilities; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

    Requires a valid driver's license.
