    Research Services Librarian (2 vacancies), George Washington University

    Position Description:

    GW Libraries and Academic Innovation (GWLAI)seeks nominations and applications for a collaborative and service-oriented Research Services Librarian to fill two open positions. LAI invites interested information professionals of all backgrounds and depths of experience who have an interest in being part of a vibrant, collaborative, mission-driven academic service organization to apply to work with us.

    Primary Job Responsibilities:
    - Sustain and expand intellectual partnerships with faculty and students across the university
    - Conduct library instruction for undergraduate and graduate level courses in partnership with faculty, including partnering with GW’s first-year University Writing Program
    - Create and contribute to programs and instruction that support student success, including information and data literacy and other skills for academic success
    - Support students, staff, and faculty via research consultations, library instruction, and workshops across disciplines
    - Participate in collaborative collection development, building relationships and supporting faculty and departments through active engagement
    - Contribute to one or more strategic services or teams in GWLAI. Areas of focus could include supporting scholarly communication, advocating for affordability and equity through the use of Open Educational Resources (OERs), building digital and computational fluency, supporting researchers’ use of data, instructional design/virtual instruction, teaching and research in business or the sciences
    - Contribute to the broader professional community by sharing knowledge in scholarly/professional venues and through service to the University and the profession

    Basic Qualifications:
    - ALA-accredited Master’s degree in library or information science or other advanced degree with relevant experience.
    - Demonstrate the ability to partner with academic departments to advance scholarship in the disciplines.
    - Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with others in an environment committed to equity, diversity and inclusion.
    - Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.

    This position reports to a Director of Research Services and may be eligible for partial telework.     Appointment Rank & Salary
    Salary minimums by rank are:
    Librarian 1: $54,000; Librarian 2: $58,956; Librarian 3: $68,700; Librarian 4: $80,300
    Salary is negotiable, contingent upon rank, skills and qualifications and is competitive for DC-area academic libraries. Comprehensive benefits package includes 22 days/year paid annual leave; 12 days/year paid sick leave; paid winter break and 7 other holidays; medical, dental, and vision; 401(A) retirement plan, 4% base and GW will match 150% of the first 4% of your 403(B) contributions, up to a maximum of 6% of your eligible compensation; tuition assistance; generous ongoing support for professional development; and paid parental leave.
