The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) is an independent, nonpartisan agency that works for Congress. We accomplish our mission by providing objective and reliable information and analysis to the Congress, to federal agencies, and to the public, and recommending improvements, when appropriate, on a wide variety of issues to make government work better.

The Center for Library Science (CLS), part of the Applied Research and Methods mission team at GAO, is seeking current students in Masters of Library and Information Science programs to apply for a hybrid (in-person and remote) summer internship. Full-time or part-time paid internship, salary $26.80 - $32.78 per hour. Other perks include transit benefits and a flexible work schedule. Types of work include specialized research in support of GAO audit work, collection development, print collection maintenance, and work with library systems.
