ZAI is seeking a Bibliometrics Information Professional to support the bibliometrics work of a major federal scientific library. The Bibliometrics Information Professional will support the federal library’s Bibliometrics Lead in the analysis of the federal agency’s peer-reviewed publications utilizing the Web of Science database, EndNote, and other tools. The types of bibliometrics projects may range from single-researcher impact reports to entire program analyses required in lab reviews. The Bibliometrics Information Professional may serve on other library teams, such as Reference and Research, as required.

Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and manage agency publications data
- Perform advanced research assessment analysis on a variety of datasets
- Participate in the production of quarterly and annual bibliometric reports as well as multi-year portfolio reviews highlighting the reach and impact of federally-funded research
- Perform customized bibliometric projects for federal agency customers
- Use specialized software, databases and tools for data analysis and visualization, such as R, Python and OpenRefine; Web of Science; and EndNote and Excel
- Plan and execute training and outreach events for researchers on bibliometrics and other library services

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in library science or related field and 2-3 years of relevant experience, including data analysis and visualization
- 2-3 years’ experience working with citation data, including identifying, curating, preparing, and analyzing
- Experience with tools for data preparation, analysis, and visualization, such as OpenRefine, R, Python, Gephi, Tableau, and other similar tools
- Experience using EndNote databases, or other similar reference management programs
- Knowledge of scientific article citation search tools such as the Web of Science, Scopus, etc.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, including expertise in developing pivot tables, using Excel formulas, and using VBA in Excel
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
