Indexer-LAC Group

Position Description:

LAC Group is seeking an Indexer for an opportunity to work on-site at the International Monetary Fund located in Washington, DC. This is a full-time, benefitted position. The responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following duties:

Responsibilities:
Review and index articles, journals, and research papers;
Assist with the mapping of internal subject terms to external controlled vocabularies (LCSH, JEL, Thema and BISAC)
Update of the IMF taxonomy which is used to categorize, search, and retrieve IMF publications and records
Support the implementation of automated indexing processes as needed
Provide quality assurance of terms using MetaLogic and similar applications;
Update SharePoint;
Create bibliographic records in JOLIS catalog;
Conduct quality control of records;
Support indexing activities as needed.

Qualifications:
MLS or similar required
Two years’ experience indexing with controlled vocabularies and subject terms
Ability to develop an understanding of subject matter in finance and international development
Knowledge of SharePoint and MetaLogic preferred
Ability to learn established indexing procedures
Excellent writing ability
Strong attention to detail
Ability to manage work independently and accurately with minimal mistakes
